Ginisang kalabasa was the first recipe I learned to cook. It was so easy to prepare and one of my comfort food but when I got married and decided to prepare this for us, hubby didn't like it at first.
For him, it was too bland and needed a lot of meat flavor. It took me a while to discover chorizo Pamplona and when I combine the two, it culminated in explosions of flavor for hubby. He loves it!!!
Ingredients:
Kalabasa (Squash) peeled, seeded, and cut into small chunks
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 onion, chopped
Chorizo Pamplona, sliced and then minced
sugar, pepper, and salt to taste
soy sauce
Instructions:
Heat oil then sauté garlic and onion for about 1-2 minutes. Add chorizo Pamplona and cook until it changes color. Add squash. Cook until the squash is tender. Season with soy sauce, salt, pepper and sugar. Cook for another 3 minutes then serve.
