IT'S BEEN A MONTH?? I GUESS....

The rainy season was declared by PAGASA last June 02, and widespread rainfalls have been observed from different parts of the country. Then, maybe 3 weeks or a month ago, Typhoons started coming in one after another (Crising, Dante, and Emong). Until today, we are still dealing with non-stop rain. Several areas were already flooded, and families and animals were evacuated. This is not just happening now; we've been dealing with these situations every year. It's a tiring cycle, but people here in the Philippines are very resilient. Instead of feeling bad about the situations, we always find ways to make things lighter, funnier, and optimist. Sometimes we romanticize it through a song. We do feel sad for all the damage to our properties, livelihoods, and worst when there are casualties, but we are built this way, survivors of circumstances.

My family lives in a higher part of Metro Manila, which is why we are not experiencing floods, but water started dripping on our bedroom wall, and it drives me nuts. I just deal with it as it is. Mop the excess water on the floor and move on. I am looking forward to sunny days, as I have already talked to our neighbor, who knows how to do waterproofing, and when that is done, a new paint on our wall.

My sympathy goes to all the families that have been affected.🙏📿

  1. I'm glad to hear you live in an area without flooding. Sometimes that is almost worse then the storm that brought it. Praying you and your family stay safe and that better weather is on the way!
